New nu metal songs 2026 weekly dispatch hero featuring Slipknot's Arsenal, Korn's album fifteen update and Spiritbox's Mourning

New Nu Metal Songs 2026: 9 Best Epic Surprise Drops

The new nu metal songs 2026 has thrown at us in a single week would have been a full year’s worth of news back in the CD-longbox era. Between September 4 and September 11, 2026, Slipknot dropped a surprise single and launched their own label, Korn’s camp let slip that drums for album fifteen are done, Spiritbox put out a song with zero warning, Ill Nino debuted a new voice, and a Connecticut five-piece got the “CEO of Nu Metal” to direct their video in a skate shop.

This is the KrushKill Records weekly dispatch: the new nu metal songs that matter, the tours that just got announced, the underground bands you should hear before everyone else does, and the physical releases worth owning. Krush the static. Kill the silence.

2026 Revival: The Tours Behind the New Nu Metal Songs

Every one of this week’s new nu metal songs arrived attached to a tour, which tells you where the money and the momentum are in 2026. The pattern for new nu metal songs 2026 style is simple: drop the track, announce the dates, sell the shirt.

Korn’s European arena run opens October 18 in Stuttgart with Architects, YOUTH CODE and PIXEL GRIP in support and closes November 21 in Milan, with London’s O2 on November 4 and Dublin’s 3Arena on November 2 along the way. Spiritbox open a UK and European headline tour at Glasgow’s SEC Centre on September 12 with Jinjer and Dying Wish, wrapping in Paris on October 9.

Further out, Electric Callboy confirmed Bloodywood as support on the 2027 European leg of the TANZNEID World Tour, opening January 21 at Dublin’s 3Arena and running through Manchester, Nottingham, Bournemouth, Cardiff, France, Benelux, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Czechia, Austria and Poland into early March. Bloodywood marked the announcement by dropping a live video of “Aaj” from Sonic Temple, flute solo included. A band built on Punjabi folk instruments and drop-tuned riffs playing arenas every night across a dozen countries is the kind of exposure that rewires a career, and the new nu metal songs that come out of that run will land in much bigger rooms.

And if you need proof the revival has escaped the subculture entirely: Carrie Underwood closed a covers block at Velocity Festival in Dyersville, Iowa on September 5 with Limp Bizkit’s “Break Stuff,” after running through Linkin Park’s “One Step Closer” and Papa Roach’s “Scars.” Rolling Stone covered it straight. Forty thousand people in a cornfield knew every word to a song from 1999. That is what it looks like when a genre finishes being rehabilitated.

Slipknot Surprise-Drop “Arsenal” and Launch (sic)est Records

The biggest of the new nu metal songs this week came out of nowhere. On September 9, Slipknot released “Arsenal,” their first new music since 2022’s The End, So Far, and with it announced (sic)est Records, the band’s own label. That is a seismic shift for a band Roadrunner signed in 1998 and released every major record for, and it follows last year’s reported catalogue sale that had a lot of fans wondering whether retirement was next. The answer, apparently, is the opposite, and it is the loudest of the new nu metal songs 2026 has produced so far.

The song itself is five minutes split into two halves. The first is fast and furious, with an intro that nods hard toward “Eyeless” from the 1999 debut. Then Corey Taylor cuts the track off and drops it into a slower, doomier back half, a two-sides-of-one-coin structure the band has not really tried since “Vermilion” in 2004. It is also the first recorded material with drummer Eloy Casagrande, and after a summer dominated by the messy public exit of Sid Wilson, “Arsenal” reads as a band reminding everyone that they are still the heaviest thing in any room.

For a label like ours, the (sic)est Records news is the more interesting story. One of the biggest bands in the genre just decided that owning the masters and the release schedule matters more than a major’s marketing budget. That is the same bet KrushKill made when we pressed Flirting With Disaster ourselves. Independence is not a compromise anymore. It is the plan.

Korn Finish Drums on Album Fifteen

Korn, “Reward The Scars” (official video), the band’s most recent single ahead of album fifteen, out via Loma Vista / Concord. Source: The Nu Metal Agenda.

Story two came from a drum tech. In a Drumeo video, Mark Bennett, who techs for Korn drummer Ray Luzier, talked through Luzier’s discontinued Pearl 14×6.5 copper free-floating snare and said, in passing, that it was the drum they “just finished recording the new record with.” Some fans took that to mean the whole album is tracked. The Nu Metal Agenda’s read is more careful: drums are usually recorded first, and producer Nick Raskulinecz (Evanescence, Foo Fighters, Mastodon) is known for cutting them early.

The safe conclusion is that the drums are done and the follow-up to 2022’s Requiem is well underway, which puts Korn’s new nu metal songs firmly on the 2027 calendar.

Guitarist James “Munky” Shaffer told Rolling Stone Brazil back in May that the band had written close to forty songs and torn most of them apart and rebuilt them. Combine that with a producer who won Grammys for getting big rock records to sound massive, and the new nu metal songs Korn eventually release in 2027 could be the most anticipated of the whole revival. Until then, “Reward The Scars,” the band’s Diablo IV tie-in single from April, is the current sound of Korn, and the European arena dates above are where you hear it live.

More New Nu Metal Songs This Week: Spiritbox, Ill Nino, Defences, Powerman 5000

Slipknot were not the only surprise. Spiritbox teased “Mourning” on Instagram on September 7 with nothing but a premiere time, then put the video out that evening. It is a standalone single on Rise Records, not a lead-off track, and it is one of the more restrained new nu metal songs of the year: Courtney LaPlante spends most of it in her clean register and saves the scream for a single hinge point. Mike Stringer co-directed the clip with Alex Bemis and co-produced the track with Dan Braunstein. Louder has the full rundown ahead of the Glasgow tour opener.

Ill Nino finally put new singer Tommy Roulette on record with “Born To Suffer (Nacido Pa Sufrir),” a Tom Flynn-directed video released September 4 and co-produced by Dave Chavarri and Laz Pina. The Latin percussion is right up front, the riff is a blunt drop-tuned chug and the Spanish-language hook is the part that sticks. As new nu metal songs go it is a deliberate reset rather than a reinvention. Roulette is drier and more barked than Cristian Machado, which will read as a loss or a clean break depending on which decade of the band you arrived in. ThePRP premiered it.

UK melodic-metal outfit Defences recruited Skindred’s Benji Webbe for “More Of Us (Than There Are Of Them)”, and Webbe does what Webbe always does, which is turn any chorus into a ragga-metal street party. It is one of the most fun new nu metal songs of the month. Meanwhile Powerman 5000’s 1999 classic “When Worlds Collide” was added to the setlist of Stage Tour, the new rhythm game from the original Guitar Hero developers at redoctane, which lands December 10 on consoles and PC. A whole generation is about to learn that riff on a plastic guitar, exactly the way we learned it.

On the heavier fringe, Suicide Silence named their new album Graceless, eleven tracks due November 20 via Nuclear Blast, with the title track already streaming and CD and vinyl variants live on the label store before the announcement even went out. Lambgoat has the tracklist. Notice the pattern: the physical rollout was staged first. More on why that matters below.

Underground Bands to Watch: The New Nu Metal Songs Nobody Is Playlisting Yet

New nu metal songs 2026 underground bands to watch: Symposia, THROATCUT., Gore. and Heathen Sun

Symposia (Newington, CT). The Connecticut five-piece put out the video for “Stockholm” on September 9, directed and edited by Holiday Kirk, the self-appointed CEO of Nu Metal, using a ten-camera array at the Angry Hair skate shop. The clip channels the late-90s skate-video energy of “7 Words” and “A Certain Shade of Green,” and the song, one of the catchiest new nu metal songs of the fall, backs it up: bouncing verses, a fat hook and a vocalist in Enrique “Rekay” Myrick who understands that the genre was always about swagger.

Their debut EP New Noise is out now via Nu Metal Agenda Worldwide, they open for deathtape on the Florida dates of the fall tour starting September 25 in Orlando, and they co-headline with Chlorine up the East Coast in November. Full dates at The Nu Metal Agenda.

THROATCUT. (Germany). Their No Kings EP came out today on Arising Empire with “bloom.” as the final single. Lower-case band name, full stop after every title, and none of that ambiguity in the music: a downtuned, mid-paced groove with clean-sung verses that give way rather than fight. A band that understands the difference between heavy and busy, and one of the sharpest new nu metal songs out of Europe this year.

Gore. (Texas). The trio premiered the video for “Crucified” this week and set October 9 for the …Then You Cannot Love Me EP on Spinefarm, a companion to last October’s If You Do Not Fear Me… Vocalist Haley Roughton places the clean hook early and uses the heavy sections as punctuation instead of the default state, which is exactly how the best new nu metal songs are being built right now.

Shock Out Bandage (Saudi Arabia via Russia). A one-man project with an Alice In Chains-thick riff sense and an isolation most bands cannot fake. New single “Click Slave!” lands October 9, a song about subscription-economy churn delivered by a cold AI voice reading your happiness score before the scream tears the whole transaction apart. Nu-Metal.com featured them this morning.

Heathen Sun (Los Angeles). Our own. If you want to know what KrushKill thinks the next wave sounds like, start with the Nu-Metal Ninjas EP and then go long with Murda Beach. Both are official CDs, both ship from the USA, both sit in the store next to the Crazy Town X catalogue, and both are full of the kind of new nu metal songs this dispatch exists to champion. Every one of the bands above proves the same point: the new nu metal songs that will define 2027 are being written in rooms that hold forty people, and the people in those rooms buy merch.

Crazy Town, Shifty Shellshock and the Red Vinyl

Every dispatch comes back to the reason this label exists. Seth “Shifty Shellshock” Binzer (1974-2024) co-founded KrushKill Records, and Crazy Town handed nu metal one of its defining singles in “Butterfly,” a song that sold millions and still fills rooms twenty-five years later. If you are new here, start with What Happened to Shifty Shellshock, our full account of his life, his battles and his final years, and the Seth Binzer biography.

This week’s own-label news: Flirting With Disaster is now up for pre-order on 7-inch translucent red vinyl, limited to 100 copies, shipping December 10. Side A carries “Cake” and “Trigger Happy,” side B has “99 Bottles,” and all three were recorded in early 2024. They are the last songs Seth committed to tape. The material exists digitally and on a limited CD, but it has never been pressed to vinyl before and there is no second pressing planned. Read the story behind Flirting With Disaster for how those sessions came together.

Slipknot launching their own label this week is a good moment to say plainly what KrushKill is. It is the label Shifty built so the music would stay in the hands of the people who made it. Every Crazy Town X CD, tee and pressing in our store exists because of that decision, and every order keeps his catalogue alive on his own terms.

Why CDs, Vinyl and Merch Still Matter for New Nu Metal Songs

Look at what the biggest stories of the week had in common. Suicide Silence had CD and vinyl variants listed before the album was even announced. Slipknot built a label so they control the pressings. Crazy Town X’s final session is going to red vinyl in a run of 100. The bands that understand 2026 understand that streaming new nu metal songs is renting them, and owning them is something else entirely.

A CD or a 7-inch is the version the band signed off on, with the artwork and the credits and the running order intact. It does not vanish when a licensing deal lapses. It pays the artist something a stream never will. And a shirt is the way you tell every stranger at the show which side of the pit you stand on. When you buy the new nu metal songs you love on physical from a label like ours, you are funding the next record directly, and for an independent label that is the whole difference between a next record existing or not.
