New nu metal music 2026 weekly dispatch hero featuring Suicide Silence, thrown, Slipknot and GHOSTKID

New Nu Metal Music 2026: 9 Best Brutal Drops

The new nu metal music 2026 has thrown at us in the last seven days is heavier, weirder and better organized than anything this genre managed in its first run. Between September 19 and September 25, 2026, Suicide Silence dropped a video that sounds like 2009 got angry again, Sweden’s thrown announced a second album and a US tour, Slipknot quietly built a countdown website that has the entire fanbase doing forensics, GHOSTKID rebuilt their lineup out of Electric Callboy and Caliban parts, and a fistful of underground acts signed real deals with real labels. That is one week.

This is the KrushKill Records weekly dispatch. Every Friday we sort the new nu metal music 2026 keeps producing into the stuff that matters: the singles worth your bandwidth, the album announcements worth a calendar entry, the tours worth the gas money, and the bands you should hear before your friends do. We are an independent label, not an aggregator. We press CDs, we ship shirts, and we still believe a record you can hold beats a playlist you forget by Tuesday. Krush the static. Kill the silence.

New Nu Metal Music 2026 Has Turned Into a 2027 Booking War

Before the singles, the context. The reason the new nu metal music 2026 has produced feels different from the 2019 ironic-revival phase is that the money moved. Legacy acts are not playing nostalgia slots any more, they are headlining stadiums, and the younger hybrid bands feeding off them are getting signed inside a week of a good single. That churn is what makes a seven-day window worth writing about at all.

The loudest evidence this week came from Slipknot, who launched a bare-bones website at unlock.slipknot1.com with an email capture and, behind it, a looping video of the band’s flaming “S” logo sitting between “09” and “28.” Underneath it plays “Insert Coin,” the intro from We Are Not Your Kind. The implication is a Monday, September 28 announcement. Three black-and-white images flash across the page, and as The Nu Metal Agenda reported after isolating them, every filename ends in “2027.”

At the same time, posters with the same flaming “S” on red have appeared in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Buenos Aires, Bogota and Hershey, Pennsylvania. That is a tour routing sitting in plain sight. Whether Monday adds a world tour to the new nu metal music 2026 calendar, a tenth album, or a reissue nobody asked for, the band has had a brutal two years of lineup news to absorb, and they know the scrutiny waiting for them. Their most recent drop, the non-album single “Arsenal,” is still the best preview of where they are at.

Underneath the giants, the week’s touring news kept stacking up. Rickshaw Billie’s Burger Patrol booked December dates, Kaonashi joined Protest The Hero’s Canadian run in November, and A24 dropped a teaser for Slayground built around a Drowning Pool needle drop, which is the kind of placement that puts a twenty-five year old riff in front of a completely new audience. Add it up and the new nu metal music 2026 has delivered is arriving alongside a live calendar that is already full into 2027.

Suicide Silence Drop “Make Your Exit” and Set Graceless for November 20

Suicide Silence, “Make Your Exit,” directed by Nathan “Karma” Cox, via the band’s official YouTube channel. Release details reported by The Nu Metal Agenda.

The single biggest piece of new nu metal music 2026 handed over this week is the second single from Suicide Silence’s upcoming record Graceless. “Make Your Exit” is frantic, mean and completely uninterested in being clever, and the video, directed by Nathan “Karma” Cox, does exactly what a video for a song like this should do: point the cameras at the band, add an odd backdrop, cover everyone in fake blood, and get out of the way.

Graceless lands November 20 via Century Media Records. Guitarist Alex Garza framed the writing approach in one line that should be printed on the inside of every rehearsal room door in the country: “Just get out of the way and serve that band logo. When we choose to do that, great things follow.” He went on to describe the band being back to doing it exactly the way they did as kids, playing heavy music from the heart. Anybody who has watched this band swing between extremes for fifteen years will recognize that as a course correction.

Suicide Silence occupy a strange and useful place in this conversation. They are a deathcore band by any technical definition, but the groove, the bounce and the crowd behaviour at their shows are pure nu metal inheritance, which is why they keep showing up in a roundup of the new nu metal music 2026 has produced. Half the bands covered further down this page learned their breakdown timing from records this band made before those musicians could drive.

They are not sitting on the release either. The Reminders Of Hell tour runs from November 5 in Riverside, California through December 13 in Los Angeles, with Angelmaker, Emmure and Synestia supporting across twenty-eight dates, including stops in Houston, Atlanta, Baltimore, Brooklyn, Montreal, Toronto, Chicago, Denver, Seattle and Sacramento. If you have been waiting for proof that the new nu metal music 2026 produced can hold a headline room without a legacy act propping up the bill, that routing is your answer.

thrown Announce UNWANTED, the Follow-Up Everyone Has Been Waiting For

thrown, “critic,” via Arising Empire’s official YouTube channel. Album details reported by The Nu Metal Agenda.

The second headline of the week, and the one with the most upside, is Swedish nu-metalcore outfit thrown announcing their sophomore album. UNWANTED arrives November 6 via Arising Empire, and it is the follow-up to 2024’s EXCESSIVE GUILT, the debut that turned a band nobody outside Scandinavia had heard of into one of the most talked-about names in new nu metal music 2026 conversations.

They have re-teamed with producer Buster Odeholm, whose work with Humanity’s Last Breath, Vildhjarta and Orbit Culture makes him roughly the ideal person to keep this band’s low end sounding like a structural failure. The record runs eleven tracks in twenty-one minutes and one second, which makes it, absurdly, the longest thrown release to date. The singles “split,” “rehearsed” and “critic” are all already out.

The tracklist reads like a list of things said to you in an argument you lost: “critic,” “don’t be fooled,” “unwanted,” “rehearsed,” “doing great,” “type of way,” “off,” “split,” “hard times,” “bare minimum,” “subpar.” That compression is the entire point. Most of the new nu metal music 2026 has rewarded is short, mean and allergic to filler, and thrown have built a whole identity out of refusing to pad a runtime.

The touring is just as aggressive. A fourteen-date US headline run starts October 1 in Asbury Park with Norma Jean and HALF ME, taking in Worcester, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Kansas City, Memphis, Tampa and Greensboro plus a Furnace Fest appearance in Birmingham on October 11. Halloween puts them at Core Fest in Goppingen, Germany. November and December bring a Europe and UK run with Counterparts, NO CURE and Heavensgate, and February 2027 takes them to Australia with Boundaries, 156/Silence and Volatile Ways, with three shows already sold out. Full dates are posted here.

New Nu Metal Music 2026: GHOSTKID, Papa Roach and a Drowning Pool Needle Drop

German chaos merchants GHOSTKID had the strangest week of anybody. Days before their third album FOLLOW THE WHITE RABBIT arrives on October 2 via Century Media, they released “I DESTROYED YOU” and unveiled an almost entirely new lineup around vocalist Sebastian “Sushi” Biesler: Iain Duncan of Caliban on guitar, former Electric Callboy drummer David Friedrich, and former We Butter The Bread With Butter bassist Axel One. Biesler and Friedrich shared a stage in Electric Callboy for the better part of a decade, so this is less a reboot than a reunion wearing new masks.

The low half of that week: the Follow The White Rabbit tour has been pushed to spring 2027 while Biesler steps back for his mental health. He confirmed in a video to the band’s channels that existing tickets will be honoured, though Seven Blood will no longer be on the run. New dates start April 4 in Zurich and finish April 25 in Nijmegen, taking in Munich, Berlin, Prague, Hamburg, London, Manchester, Nottingham and Paris. The full rescheduled routing is here. Bands calling a tour off for the right reasons is a genuinely healthy development in a scene that spent twenty years pretending otherwise.

Elsewhere, Papa Roach pulled out of Louder Than Life after bassist Tobin Esperance hit what the band described as an unexpected emergency, a reminder that the 2026 festival calendar is being held together by human beings. Drowning Pool landed a placement most bands would trade a tour for, with A24 dropping a teaser for Slayground built on one of their tracks. And in the quietly satisfying column, Breaking Benjamin’s “Awaken” went RIAA Gold, which is the sort of milestone that only lands years after the fact.

There was film news too: Ozzy & Black Sabbath: Back To The Beginning hits theaters in October. It is not new nu metal music 2026 in the strict sense, but every band in this dispatch owes a debt to the riff that started it, and a generation that only knows Ozzy from clips deserves to see it properly.

Underground Bands Making the New Nu Metal Music 2026 Actually Needs

New nu metal music 2026 underground bands to watch, KrushKill Records weekly dispatch

This is the section we care most about, because this is where the new nu metal music 2026 will be remembered for actually comes from. Labels signed three of these acts inside the last seven days, which tells you the A&R people have finally stopped pretending this sound is a phase.

RinRin signed with Fearless Records and dropped “fever dream,” which pairs a genuinely unsettling vocal with production that sounds like a corrupted ringtone. Ando San signed to Sumerian and put out two singles at once, “Hype Man” and “Triggas,” which is a flex only a band with a full record already finished can pull off. Luna Kills went bigger and brighter with “Supervillain,” all hooks and no apology.

Eville released “Flip Phone,” a title that tells you precisely which decade they are mining and precisely how seriously they take it. Amira Elfeky is teasing a new song called “Breakdown” arriving at the end of this month, and on current form she is the most likely of this group to end up on a main stage. Rounding it out, Artio put out a live session of “Room Tone” ahead of their Soul Rot Forever EP, and Chile’s aggrometal scene got a proper primer this week in an excellent long read that is worth your afternoon.

We put our money where this paragraph is. Heathen Sun are our own contribution to the underground end of the new nu metal music 2026 conversation, and both of their records are out on CD: the five-track Nu-Metal Ninjas EP and the full-length Murda Beach. Independent bands do not survive on streams. They survive on people buying physical copies.

Crazy Town X, Shifty Shellshock and the Records That Started This

None of the new nu metal music 2026 has produced exists in a vacuum. The rap-rock hybrid that half the bands above are rebuilding got its commercial proof of concept from a handful of records at the turn of the century, and one of them was made by the band this label was built around.

Seth “Shifty Shellshock” Binzer, who co-founded KrushKill Records, died in 2024. He was 49. Crazy Town’s story is messier and sadder and more human than the “Butterfly” jokes ever allowed for, and we wrote it out properly in What Happened to Shifty Shellshock, along with a full Seth Binzer biography. If you only know the single, those two pieces are the place to start.

The last record he made with the band came out through this label. Flirting With Disaster is the final Crazy Town X album and the closest thing to a last word he left, and the story behind how it got finished is in that piece. It is available as a limited edition CD and as a red vinyl 7-inch. Everything else the band has in print, including the shirts and hats, is on the Crazy Town X page.

Why CDs and Merch Still Matter in 2026

Here is the uncomfortable arithmetic behind every band in this dispatch. A thousand streams pays for roughly one sandwich. One CD pays for a tank of gas that gets a van from Memphis to Birmingham. When you buy a shirt or a disc directly from a label like this one, the money reaches the people who made the record in weeks rather than never, and that is what keeps the new nu metal music 2026 has given us coming next year.

If this dispatch pointed you at one record worth owning, own it. Everything below ships from the USA, straight from the label, and every sale funds more new nu metal music 2026 and beyond.

When does thrown’s album UNWANTED come out?

What is Slipknot announcing on September 28?

The band has not said. Which underground bands should I hear first?

Start with RinRin’s “fever dream” and Ando San’s “Hype Man,” both released alongside new label deals, then Luna Kills’ “Supervillain” and Eville’s “Flip Phone.” For the heavier end of the new nu metal music 2026 underground, Heathen Sun are on our own roster.

Is nu metal actually popular again or is this nostalgia?

Both, and the booking data settles the argument. Limp Bizkit are opening stadiums for Metallica in 2027, Slipknot are teasing a campaign across four countries, and labels including Fearless, Sumerian, Century Media and Arising Empire all signed or released new nu metal music 2026 acts in the past month. Nostalgia does not move that much money.

What happened to Shifty Shellshock?

No, but the line is thinner than purists like. Suicide Silence are a deathcore band by any technical measure, yet the groove, the bounce and the crowd behaviour come straight from the nu metal playbook, which is why they keep landing in a new nu metal music 2026 roundup.

How often do you publish this dispatch?

Every week. The full archive of the new nu metal music 2026 coverage lives on the KrushKill Records blog, and each edition covers releases, tours and rising bands from the previous seven days.
