Our Origin Story
In the heart of Los Angeles, 2022, Krushkill Records was born from a real friendship and shared mission. Mark White, who became Crazy Town’s final guitarist and Seth Binzer’s business partner, connected with Seth “Shifty Shellshock” Binzer over a mutual hunger to discover new voices and keep Crazy Town’s raw energy alive.
Together they founded Krushkill to sign hungry artists and push bold new music. On February 14, 2024 they released the label’s first project — the explosive 3-track EP Flirting With Disaster, featuring “Cake,” “Trigger Happy,” and “99 Bottles.”
Just four months later, on June 24, 2024, Seth was taken from us at age 49 by an accidental overdose. We miss him every day. His fight, his creativity, and his spirit didn’t leave — they became the fuel.
Today Krushkill Records carries that fire forward: signing real talent, dropping heavy music, and honoring Shifty by never playing it safe.

Seth Binzer — Shifty Shellshock — was more than a frontman. He was the raw, unfiltered heartbeat of Crazy Town, the voice that made “Butterfly” an anthem for a generation, and a brother to everyone in the nu metal underground.
“Come my lady, come come my lady…” — the words that echoed through every basement show, every festival, every late night on Sunset Blvd.
Krushkill Records exists because of the fire Seth lit. His spirit runs through every beat, every distorted riff, every scream on every record we press. From the streets of LA to the red clay of North Carolina, his legacy doesn’t fade — it burns louder.

Seth "Shifty Shellshock" Binzer, the voice of Crazy Town, died on June 24, 2024 at a residence in Los Angeles County. He was 49. Beyond the hits, Seth was a co-founder of KrushKill Records alongside guitarist Mark White — the label he built to keep signing hungry artists and pushing raw music. Who sang "Butterfly"?
Seth "Shifty Shellshock" Binzer sang the hook on Crazy Town's "Butterfly," trading verses with co-founder Bret "Epic" Mazur. It's the song that made "come my lady, come come my lady" an inescapable piece of Y2K culture.
Did "Butterfly" hit number one?
Yes. Released as the third single from The Gift of Game in October 2000, "Butterfly" reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for two non-consecutive weeks across March and April 2001.
What song does Crazy Town's "Butterfly" sample?
"Butterfly" is built on a loop from "Pretty Little Ditty" — an instrumental deep cut from the Red Hot Chili Peppers' 1989 album Mother's Milk. The four-bar figure is a brief flash in the original but becomes the entire spine of "Butterfly." Because of it, Anthony Kiedis, Flea, Chad Smith and John Frusciante are all credited as writers on a No. 1 rap-rock single.
How did Crazy Town start?
Seth Binzer and Bret Mazur met in 1992 and first made music together as The Brimstone Sluggers. By 1999 the name had changed to Crazy Town, and debut album The Gift of Game landed that November.
